Fence

Our fence project is almost complete. Daniel has been working on the fence over his Christmas vacation time. He really has worked hard with very little help. Due to the holiday, sickness and busy schedules it has been hard to find help. He did a great job and it looks awesome. I will post the 100% complete project when it gets done.

Lucas Family Christmas

Christmas with family

We decided to go to a Mongolian restaurant for dinner for our Christmas celebration with the Barton's, Mamaw and Peter. Each person is supposed to prepare their own dish. Then we went home to let the boys open their gifts. I loved my meal that Daniel made at the Mongolian restaurant. I entertained the boys while he made our food. Maybe next time we go I will make my own.

Ice cream

On the way back from the San Marcos outlet Mall I surprised Stephen with an ice cream cone. He fell asleep a few miles down the road.

Making Chex Muddy Buddies

Mom and I always make Muddy Buddies Chex snack each year for Christmas. After the boys went to sleep I made two batches. Jamie enjoyed licking the bowl of melted Chocolate and peanut butter.

Christmas Donuts

I made Christmas donuts for Stephen one morning. Mom gave me the idea to use cookie cutters. Then we dipped them in sugar and a mixture of peanut butter and syrup. Stephen loved his donuts.

Christmas time in Gonzales

Daniel started the backyard fence this Thursday since the weather finally didn't stump his plans. The boys and I decided to go visit my Mom in Gonzales. She had schedule dental surgery on Friday so we took her to the appointment and then went to visit my 87 year old Meme. Meme loves seeing the boys and it gives us a chance to rest, eat and change diapers. Since we were here for four days we had lots of fun things to do.

Jonathan is sitting in my great grandmother Omie's rocking chair.

Mom found some old beanie hats so we all took turns wearing them.

Friday, I took Stephen to get his first REAL haircut at Your's and Mine hair salon. This is the only picture I took before he started crying. He had to sit on my lap the rest of hair cut. The candy trick did not work.

I put Jonathan in the toy box and he did not like it.

Most of the time wherever I am Stephen wants to be too. Here is a peek at what some meals look like. Enjoy!

Moby Wrap

I have a friend who loves her Moby wrap. Jonathan is 5 months old but way too big for my Bjorn. He outgrew it a month and half ago. I am wondering if I should get a Moby. They are a little pricey but worth the money. Anyone have any suggestions? A friend of mine is going to let me borrow hers for a little while to see if I like it. I was thinking of using it when I am at the grocery store, mall or when we are out and about as a family. Honestly, I just can't fit my double stroller where I need to go. The grocery store is almost impossible to buy anything when you have a toddler in the front and a car seat in the basket.

This week

I am involved in a Mom's group in our area. We went to a play date and Christmas book exchange. I met about 9 mother's in my area who all have kids close to the ages of my kids. We had to bring a snack and a wrapt book to exchange. This is Stephen's fun book he picked out to unwrap.

While I was at the dentist poor Jonathan got a phone dropped on his face by Daddy. Daniel was trying to feed him a bottle while talking on the phone and it didn't work out so well. He didn't see where he dropped the phone until later when the purple spot under his eye showed up.

Daniel's parents gave us a Philipine Christmas parol this year. We put it up the first day of December.

Toddler BED

Since Stephen is 2 I have decided to convert his crib into the toddler bed. The problem is I have misplaced the manual. I thought I put it in a safe place with all my other "baby manuals" but it's lost. First, I called BabiesRUs to see if they had an extra laying around but they don't. So I have called the manufacturer's office to see if I can get a new manual or if there is an online manual (Babi Italia Pinehurst Natural). Here is the stages of his life style crib. I would wait longer but honestly I can barely get him in/out of the crib because it is so deep. This might prompt him to try to open his bedroom door but I GUESS we will deal with that when it happens.

Yucky weather and sickness!

Yesterday at Stephen's 2 year appointment we found out both the boys have viral infections. Since Daniel is off he went with the boys and I. After hearing wheezing sounds from Stephen she carefully listened to Jonathan too. I let her know I was just here 8 days ago (different doctor but the same practice) with Jonathan. The same day I went to the doctor to get antibiotics for a sore throat. Our pediatrician said to start breathing treatments 3-4 times a day, four hours apart. I was hoping we would be able to go to a friend's Christmas party Saturday night but I am thinking we will skip it AGAIN this year. It's a little difficult in two different ways for a 2 year old and a 5 month old to do breathing treatments. Jonathan's dosage is 1/2 of Stephen's but he has to be distracted the entire time. He will quickly grab it off his face. Stephen says "all done" after a few minutes but can be easily distracted by the TV or a book. TODAY it is really nice and cold so we are staying inside.

Our 5 month old boy

Our little guy is now blond except for a little patch at the back of his neck.

Today Jonathan is 5 months old. He is our sweet, docile child. I cannot express in words how blessed I feel to have such an easy 2nd boy. He is very much on the move these days trying to scoot his way across the carpet. He ooches up his small bottom once he has flipped over. Usually, he flips over instantly after he is put on the floor unless he has a toy to distract him. He even flips over now in bed. It drives ME crazy. He is eating rice cereal and a vegetable twice a day, drinking 6 oz. every 3-4 hours, sleeping 9-10 hours consistently and taking 3 naps during the day. I have also started giving a double bath to the boys using my next stage sit-up bath seat. It actually works great. I just have to make sure I take the baby papizan in the bathroom so I can transition Jonathan into the seat if Daniel can't come get him. Jonathan still gets a bath every other night. His eczema is still there and has spread more over his skin but it's not too noticeable. I had a scare a few weeks ago thinking he had ringworm but it was another form of eczema that resembles ringworm. UGH! It went away after awhile. Here are some pictures I took last week.
