Stephen had fun opening his gift on his birthday. His cousins, Chance, Hunter and Titus helped him. He enjoyed clapping for himself. Here are his fun gifts he recieved from his Aunt Cheri, Uncle Brad and Noni and Papa.

update on surgery
Here is an update on how Stephen's surgery went. So far everything looks good. About two weeks ago I took him for a post-op appointment to check his ears. All looks good the doc said. He did great on one of the hearing tests (the one in the booth), he passed with flying colors unlike last time before surgery. He had to do another test where they put something in his ears that takes almost 5 minutes on each side. It is a difficult test the nurse told me with a child his age. He past only 3 out of 5 on this test so we go back in February to redo the test. The nurse said it is normal for kids his age to not pass this test so it made me feel better. Here are some fun pictures of that day.

We dropped off the kid
Friday, Daniel and I drove to meet my parents in Sealy to drop off Stephen. He is staying with his Noni and Papa Lucas until next Friday. We slept in for the first time in forever. I somewhat slept in until 6:50 AM if that even counts. I made pig-in-the-blankets for breakfast and went back to sleep until 9:45AM! I did call my Mom today at 7, 10, 12, 2:30, and 7:30 to check on my little dumpling. He went to a wedding today and played all day with his Noni and Papa.
Daniel and I enjoyed our day of cleaning the house, visiting with some close friends, going to Ross and eating Chick-fil-A for lunch. Then we went to Harley Davidson store so Daniel could dream of buying a bike and then off to Wal-Mart so shop. How fun! We also discussed how we need to buy Stephen a convertible carseat this week.
Jamie and I went to Olive Garden tonight just girls while Daniel went to a friends to watch the Tech football game. We enjoyed our girls night at the mall and looking at all the beautiful Christmas tree decorations at Market Street. The mall including dip-n-dots ice cream.. yum BUT only window shopping. I am still trying to figure out Christmas gifts for the family.

Some fun things we have done this month
Closer and closer to age 1
It has been a few weeks since our last post. We have been busy over the last month. I (Kristie) started playing football on Saturday's again with First Baptist Houston. Daniel spends several hours on Saturday watching Stephen, Hunter and Titus while we all play football. It has been fun but very tiring. I knew I would be out of shape but WOW! Talk about sore. We have only one loss under our belt and ranked #2. The playoffs are this weekend!
Daniel enjoys his new job at Chevron. He has been getting home by 5pm each day. What a nice change compared to 6:30pm. Not much change on my end at work.
We are getting ready to celebrate a sweet baby boy's 1st birthday. We are celebrating his birthday over Thanksgiving down the street at my sister-in-law and brother's house. Since Callie is so young we decided to stay here for Thanksgiving. My parents and both grandma's are traveling to The Woodlands. Also, Daniel sister and family, Mamaw and Peter will be coming. It will be a house full of fun, food and kids. Daniel and I have a lot to be thankful for at this stage of our life. God has blessed us with Stephen, a house not touched by Hurricane Ike and a great church.
Stephen is growing so much. He has 5 teeth and is on the verge of walking. Food is a fun topic right now. I am so worried about choking things. He has a sensitive gag reflux. I am getting braver but enjoying the trial and error phase of figuring out what he can and cannot eat yet. I think the hardest thing is daycare. He only gets one nap a day some days at daycare. It gets him though by the time he gets in the car on the way home he will sleep from 4pm until 6pm.
Next week will be a great week. I have off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It will be nice to spend time with my son for 5 days. I am not sure of Daniel's schedule but I am sure he gets off Thursday and Friday.
Have a great week!
