Crawfish Boil at the Barton's

We celebrated Peter's birthday by having a crawfish boil. We had a lot of fun!
After bath time Nichole is clean and ready for bed.

Sky is playing night, night.

Sky is soaked in watermelon juice.

Everyone loved the watermelon except one little guy. Guess who? Jonathan. He wouldn't even try it. Can you see his right black eye?

All the kids looking at the live crawfish (minus Jonathan)

Nichole (left) is Daniel's cousin Philip's little girl. She is 16 months and Sky is 19 months.

Jonathan after he bonked his eye by going down small slide holding a dump truck. Neither one of us adults saw it until is was happening. He cried and later we found he first black eye (under the right eye).

March Zoo

Daniel helped a friend of ours from bible study put in some hardwood floors. So I TOOK the boys to the ZOO!! We had so much fun. They both did super great. I packed a ton of snacks and PBJ sandwich's and we went to the zoo. We have a family pass and it was out so I had to renew it. It went fast and we were in by 1AM. Stephen already knows what animals he wants to see so he pretty much leads the way. Jonathan was a little scared. He liked sitting in the stroller and viewing animals from a distance. This is our lunch time at a picnic table in the shade. It was very hot! Jonathan's curious about all the sounds.
My attempt at asking a woman to take our picture on the train ride.

Lion!

Jonathan did get out a few times.

The albino alligator.

End of March and April 2011

In late March my school had a carnival on a Friday evening. I had the first shift so Daniel met me at my school to help watch the kids while I worked my shift. The boys love it. Jonathan in the bounce house.

Stephen is scooter racing at my event.

Boy did Stephen enjoy making his own snowcone with Daddy.

We have enjoyed some fun outings this month. I am a little behind on blogging so I am going to attempt to post a few things we have done this month.

Spring BREAK fun

Here is what my week has looked like so far since Spring Break.

Monday:
I took Stephen to daycare at 8am. I came home and then took Jonathan to the doctor at 10:30. The pediatrician decided to put him on an antibiotic we started breathing treatments for all the gunk in his chest. Picked Stephen up from daycare at 4:00pm.

Tuesday:
I took both boys to daycare at 7:30am today. I went directly to Krista's house to see her newborn baby boy, Clay and to visit. I did not get home until 10:30am. Cleaned up and did some laundry until noon. I met a friend from college for lunch from 12-1 and then we went to meet up with 3 more girls from college at a local lunch spot. Then went to pick my boys up at 3:30 and didn't get home until 4:30 because of traffic! I picked up some drinks at the house and then we went to the mall until 6:40pm. My friends from college were still at the mall hanging out. I did not get to see them long but the boys enjoyed playing for a little while in the play area. Then we went to eat in the food court at Stephen's favorite place: 'Chick -Fil-A!!!

Wednesday:
Today I took both boys to daycare on their normal routine around 7:30am. I went home and enjoyed some coffee and then did my NCAA bracket. I decided to go to Sam Moon to look around for an hour or so before I picked up Stephen around noon. I decided to get a pair of earrings and a clutch purse for $10.99. It is my first clutch purse. Now that I have kids I really don't carry purses without a strap and at least to holders for sippy cups. HA HA! After picking up Stephen I took him home to hang out with his Daddy and me until his appointment at 2:15 with the ENT. I wanted him to take a nap but nope, that didn't happen. I should have known!

During the appointment we decided to schedule Stephen's 2nd ear tube surgery for April 20th. We decided to put Stephen on a nasal spray to help reduce the size of his adenoids for one month. The size of his adenoids might be the main problem with why he is having ear infections again.

Thursday:
We met Mom half way and dropped the boys off with her. She is keeping them until Sunday. Then we drove to Louisiana. Daniel is teaching Friday and Saturday two different classes. I plan to sleep in a little and go visit some local shops and the mall.

Friday- Sunday:
Lafeyette, Louisiana

Cranky but having fun

The boys are having fun on their bikes. They are still snotty nosed and grumpy (mainly Jonathan). Stephen has an ENT appointment on Wednesday but I might have to call Monday to see if they can see him earlier. He is complaining that his ear is itching not hurting. Jonathan told Daniel yesterday he had "owie" in his ear. Jonathan's ear is not draining but I started drops anyways (since he has tubes) because he is so cranky and complaining. I am praying tonight is a good nights rest in our house.
I have to pay daycare 100% this week since I have used 2 weeks of vacation already. Both were sick weeks too. Since I am paying in full I am sending them two days to daycare at least so I can do some cleaning and laundry. That is, if they are well enough to go Monday!!!!!!!
I hope to veg one day!

Fun, last minute, free tickets to the rodeo

The rest of the pictures I took did not turn out.

We took our friends Krista and Mike to the rodeo to see Keith Urban. Daniel got free tickets the day of the event. I was super pumped since we did not have the kids we didn't have to worry about getting a sitter. Both boys were under the weather so Mom kept them this whole week. We missed them very much! I had a busy week of events after school so it worked out fine.
Jonathan is still cranky but thankfully no more fever.
Sorry, these pictures aren't the best. We were on the 6th row. This was by far the closest we have ever been to all events. WE DID NOT GET THERE until after 7:30 so we missed most of the bull riding. The concert was great. I can't wait to see Miranda Lambert this upcoming week. I wanted to get tickets to Zack Brown Band or Lady A but they were all sold out. FREE is the best anyway!!!

Jonathan's bike

We ordered Jonathan a Strider bike. Stephen has a blue one we ordered him right after he turned 18 months old. Jonathan loves it! We figured two boys, one bike equals fighting! We are waiting the arrival of a lime green bike with a matching helmet to fit is small head.
