Jonathan's Birthday fun

Our little guy turned 5 on the first of this month. We had a pool party with family and a few friends.

I'm such a good Mom and took 0 photos of the party. My sweet neighbor took these.

The same day my close high school friend and her two darling kids came to visit and spend the night. We had so much fun.

We enjoy spending summer evenings with our 3 beautiful kids in Texas.  I'm continuously amazed at how blessed we are. Here is 20 minutes of frisbee and soccer at 8:25pm.

Our trip to Russia

I am impressed with my husband and his traveling savy. This is one side I rarely see since we don't travel often together. The last international flight I flew on was to the Phlippines and I was 12 weeks pregnant with Jonathan. It is so nice to have a man that travels quite frequently because he knows what to do. We flew into LA California to the LAX airport. I checked out the view a few times as we were flying over Arizona. It was just amazing to see quilts of green land and then many miles of dry dessert and mountains. Just a beautiful aural view. Yes, I love sitting by the window. If you travel internationally through LAX you have to go out of the airport and wait for a shuttle to bus you across the street to the other airport. Since we did this we have to go through the whole security thing ....again. I did get patted down (by a woman if your a woman) because I had on my very comfy Althleta pants. These pants are by far my favorite non-pajama looking pants I own. One reason I like these pants is it has many zippers and pockets to hold my cell phone and passport but because of the zippers and pockets the guard had to pat me down. We flew in at 8pm (10pm Houston time) on Saturday night. It took about an hour to get to the other airport and security so 9pm. We had to sit around a swanky business lounge on the 6th floor until 11:45pm. It had a buffee with lots of asian food, read, Daniel got on computer and we watched SC then we walked around the stores down stairs for a little while since we were getting tired. We boarded our 12 hour flight for Korea and took off at a little passed 1am. The seats are quite spacious for me since I am petite. I did purchase some Bose noise canceling out headphones before the trip and they are wonderful. I'm thinking we will get some for the kids before we leave in mid August but I need to research what kind.

On this flight we fly into Soel Korea. We ate a meal they served so we didn't get to sleep until a little after 2am. I chose the Korean food which was semi good. The soup was the best and I didn't eat any vegetables but I liked the steamed rice and tiny amount of minced beef. your supposed to mix it with a red pepper paste but I did not. They also had western food to chose from. The appetizer was marinated shrimp with honey mustard dressing, main courses to chose from were beef stew with mashed potatoes and vegetables, mixed seafood served with a sauce, fried rice and vegetables or Fettucinni with cheese, served with pesto cream sauce, smoked chicken and vegetables, 3 cheeses to chose from and chocolate mousse dessert with tea or coffee. I will try one of these dishes on our flight back. The rows in first class are 1-2-1 so we are making a mental note of how to fly with the 3 kids. (It will not be easy and we will have many melt downs BUT there is so much they will LOVE. They will love riding all the escalators, taking the shuttle bus and eating in the lounge). On our flight our seats lay all the way down like a bed. They give you a pillow, twos small thick comforter blankets, slippers, eye black out shades to wear. I woke up around 6 and went back to sleep until 8am. It's at 8:20am your time and i just ordered a cressant ham and cheese sandwich and a coffee for breakfast. Daniel is still asleep.

When we fly into Korea we will have another 3 hour connecting flight to Ysno-sakhalin Russia.
We arrived and went to visit a new co-worker and his family before going to our hotel.

This is the view from our hotel.

The whole week this is how dark it was a 9:45pm (summer in Yzno-Sakhalinisk).

Rainy Day fun

Lately we have some crazy weather. Our electricity kept flickering out Thursday during the storm so I did a impromptu afternoon at the mall. We played in the play area for 20 minutes, went to visit the pet store, ate supper at Sonic in the good court, rode the Carousel and bought a cookie on the way out. It wasn't that bad with a 6.5 year old, 5 year old (next week) and a 2.5 year old. Since Anna is 2 1/2 she doesn't exactly love the stroller. I let her and Jonathan switch out. I know this simple but fun trip to the mall is coming to a close very soon, at least until December. I know we have a mall but it's nothing like our The Woodlands mall. I have only taken the kids a handful of times this past year. It's not my favorite place to go play but They love seeing the mounted patrol on their horses and I would love to take them on a trolley ride.

I snapped a few photos of our fun time at the mall.

We leave for Russia tomorrow for our visit. I'm looking forward to getting away for a week with the hubs even if it's not the Carribean. We planned the one week visit to Russia and a one week trip to Pointe West in Galveston the week of our 10 year anniversary.

Happy Father's Day

Here is what I snapped quickly after church.

Russia, here we come

Daniel and I are going on our preview trip to Russia in 9 days. We will leave here on June 28th and will arrive in Russia on June 29th. The weather, from my google search, says it is going to be in the low 50's at night and low 70's during the day. I am super pumped about these weather conditions since we have already pushed 100 here in my area. When we swim it's usually for about an hour (during the day). During the week we will go visit the school and enroll Stephen in Primary 1 and Jonathan in Pre-K (not sure what it is called). Anna will get to go to nursery one or two mornings a week after she turns 3. We are getting excited but we don't have control over the details. This has been and will continue to be a test of our patience. I do not know the flight details until we get on the first plane.

I am excited to take the kids and our family on a cultural experience. We plan to take many trips but one that excites me is to the Great Wall in China, to Japan and we will visit other countries on vacation in the next three to four years. I am a little nervous about FOOD but I am going to have to DEAL.... and get over it. I guess this is something the Lord is really going to have to get me through. Jonathan is my picky eater but the other two kids are pretty easy going about food. They love their fruits and veggies and tend to not fight me as much on FOOD. I am hoping they adjust well since they won't really have a choice, just like me.

On our trip I plan to take lots of pictures and make notes so I can remember what we REALLY need to bring from our house, what we need to buy (bedding, a few rugs) and what can stay behind. I am really excited to get away with Daniel on our preview trip. We have not gone away like this for more than a couple of days since our one year anniversary trip.

Today I am meeting Daniel in Houston and we are taking the kids to get their vaccines at 2pm. They all do pretty well getting shots so I know once it's over they will do fine. I am taking some lollipops to distract them.

I took me 30+ to write this post. I had my 2.5 year old sitting next to me trying to drink my coffee, while drawing on paper with a red marker that she tried to sneak out of my office. Then she insisted on sitting in my lap to type since I was not giving her the attention. She found MY Erin Condren planner with all the cute colored markers that she tried to use. I learned my lesson 2 months ago and she is not allowed to use them.

He graduated from Kindergarten

Stephen and Mrs. Grabowski

This is his excited smile as he found us in the crowd on the way up to the stage.

Getting his name called out

Stephen and Daniel took a picture in the classroom after the ceremony.

Jonathan wanted a picture with his Daddy too. Notice, I am no where to be seen since I am snapping all the photos on my camera.
