Enjoying the Country

We have enjoyed our week visiting my Mom in Gonzales. The weather has been breezy and warm in the 70's. Stephen LOVES this weather! Mom and Dad have such an open yard and huge area for playing. I can take my coffee out on the porch swing and read while Stephen is riding his bike and Jonathan is sitting the walker. It has been such a nice week. We have visited with Molly, Chance and Callie Saturday and Sunday. Then Tuesday and Wednesday we visited my Meme, Aunt Betty, Cousin Melissa and her son Rylan. My Nana also came by to visit us today at the house. Jonathan has such a personality lately. It's more of a screaming, fit throwing personality that's kinda of hilarious. He is also "inch worming" everywhere. Here is a picture of where we found him earlier trying to get a fire truck.

March 1st 8 months old

My little boy is getting so big. Here are some fun things I thought you might want to know about our sweet baby boy.

Favorite food: applesauce
Favorite song: "Mommy Loves Jonathan" (a song I made up, he laughs and kicks)
Favorite toys: doesn't really have a specific favorite toy
Favorite game: "peek-a-boo" can play with me now by taking off the blanket when I put it on his face
Sleeping position: belly with his bottom in the air
Naps: Now taking three naps a day for an hour and sometimes an 1 1/2
Feeding: 6 bottles a day; 1st bottle 7oz. the rest are 5-6 oz.
Bathing: taking a bath every other day (most of the time); still has eczema breakouts

Stephen is now saying Jonathan instead of "Jon-a-nin." He tells Jonathan during daily conversation "your a baby boy, Stephen's a big boy." He will also take a train from Jonathan and give him a toy from "Jonathan's" toy basket. Jonathan loves rolling on top of Stephen and taking his toys multiple times. It's interesting to watch. Stephen is so good with his little brother. He somehow he hasn't hit Jonathan yet for taking his toys. I am hoping that doesn't change. Stephen greets Jonathan daily with a "good morning Jonathan" or "Hi Jonathan, are you hungry?" Can you tell what I ask him when he wakes up? The pacifier thing has really gone much better than I expected. Jonathan doesn't love the pacifier like Stephen. I use the Mam pacifier that is a teether. They keep him occupied more for teething.

He is our pride and joy!

The Houston Zoo

We took the boys to the Houston Zoo a few weeks ago. It was nice to get out of the house and do something fun with the family. Stephen LOVES to ride the TRAIN around Herman Park before we enter the zoo! He was yelling to the top of his lungs "All Aboard! Choo Choo!"
Sweet little boy in the stroller didn't really get to see too many of the animals because of the crowd of people but he did get to hear and smell the animals.

Jonathan 7 months old

My sweet baby boy is growing so fast. He is definitly into a lot right now. I can only imagine what it will be like when he starts crawling. I love to watch him explore different textures and use his little fingers. Here's what my little one is doing:
  • 2 teeth
  • weight: 17 pounds 10 1/2 ounces
  • sits up without help
  • rolls everywhere
  • drinks 4-5 oz. formula six times a day
  • experiencing some stranger anxiety
  • loves to swing
  • naps 3 times a day
  • still using eczema cream a few times a week
  • most of my baths are with my brother splashing and trying to chew on letters & numbers
  • sleeps in the car seat
  • hates to be strapped into the car seat
  • loves sitting in the stroller & grocery store cart
  • wearing 9 month clothing and size 3 shoe (still little big)

I love his hair in this photo.

After 2 1/2 hours in the car the boys and I are outside enjoying the sun going down. Stephen is riding his bike and Jonathan is exploring a new toy.
