October fun in Yuzhno

I'm just excited to see the fall season unfolding so colorfully. It is beautiful. 

We have had birthday parties,

haircuts, Korean market fruits and veggies, Zima Run and cold weather in the last few weeks. 

It's October!!

We are really enjoying the cool weather but not the rain. Boo! It has been very nice most days. On Wednesday of this week we finally received our air freight. We have waited for it for 6 weeks. We knew all wouldn't go as planned so it wasn't surprising when we found out it was delayed -then delayed again and then it arrived on Ocober 30th. It somehow cleared in 24 hours through customs and arrived at our door at 3pm. This day was the first day it froze over night. My phone showed 25 degrees. The kids loved it. It warmed up to 35 around 10am. 

Jonathan's 1st Day of school

We are happy our little 5 year old started Pre-K this week. Here it is called P1. Since is 5 he is supposed to be in P5 but we held him back. Here it doesn't happen often so this decision had to go to a committee of board members of theSakhalin  Internstional School. After reviewing our reasons we found out they agree with us. We are still dealing with some minor pooping on the potty issues so for week 1 (this week) he is going 1/2 bed from 8:40-11:55am. He has loved it and has done great.

Skye and Jonathan are 6 months apart. Jonathan is older. 

I'm thrilled he has had 3 good days. I'm praying it continues. 

School started 9/1

Stephen had his first day of school on Monday. He also met his teacher and saw inside the school for the first time. 

This is all I got of day 1 morning. 

Day 2 we rode the bus to school and back home, to get Stephen for lunch and my sweet neighbor rode back with him and her daughters and then to schhol for pick up and back home. 

Family of 5 Trip to the beach

We decided to take the kids to the beach even though the forecast predicted rain. We left our place around 10:45 and made it to the beach around 11:45. We let the kids dig with some shovels and find seas shells. Daniel fished a little but it was high tide so no fish were biting. We left one beach and went up to another beach. The kids loved it. We also saw the ZlNG plant that is huge and had a little science discussion with the boys.

We took two ski lifts with the Barton's to check out the view from the top of the mountain.
